About the Author

Qassim F. Baker, MBChB FRCS (Eng.), has been an international and UK examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England since 2015, and before that was an examiner and tutor for the Iraqi Medical Specialisation Board (1996–۲۰۰۴). He was previously Professor of Surgery at two universities in Malaysia (2013–۲۰۱۶); Assistant Professor at the Department of Surgery, Medical College, University of Baghdad; and Head of the Department of Surgery at two teaching hospitals in Iraq between 1990–۲۰۰۴.
