Radiologists who have taken the trouble to learn the many facets of normal breast radiological anatomy can interpret mammograms more effectively and with greater confidence. Also, knowledge of the pathophysiological processes leading to the pathological changes in the breast is necessary for the radiologist to master the intricacies of breast imaging. However, a wide gulf separates the pathologist’s high-resolution images of a small, thin section of tissue from the radiologist’s images of the entire breast at a lower resolution. We have endeavored to narrow this gulf by correlating mammography with subgross, three-dimensional pathology images and large, thin-section pathology images.

This book has been more than two decades in the writing, having gone through innumerable versions as we have sought to bring László Tabár’s teaching courses to the printed page.
